Name the other person

Messenger lets people give each chat its own colour, and many screenshots online use one. This page draws the default: blue bubbles, blue icons and the blue thumbs-up, the look a chat has until someone changes it.

What People Make With It

A fake FB Messenger chat is mostly a joke, a scene or a stand-in: the message a creator wishes they had received, a couple of lines in a storytime video, a brand pitch written out so a client can see the outreach before anyone sends it. Marketers use it the way a wireframe gets used — a screenshot in a deck that is not a real person's inbox.

The Dark Version of This Page

This page opens in the light chat, which is what Messenger looks like on a phone that has never been switched over. Does the fake Facebook Messenger chat look like the real app?
It is drawn from real iPhone screenshots of Messenger. The layout, the type and the spacing were measured from one capture; the blue of your bubbles and icons, the grey of theirs and the thumbs-up at the end of the message box come from screenshots of Messenger's default theme. The text is set in SF Pro, the face Messenger itself uses on an iPhone.
Can I make a fake FB Messenger chat in dark mode?
Yes. The moon button switches this page to dark, and there is a page set up for it: the fake Messenger chat dark mode generator, linked below, starts dark. Both pages are the same generator, so a conversation typed on one can be finished on the other.
Can I add a photo, a reaction or a seen receipt?
Photos and emoji reactions, yes: open any message to add them, though the reactions have not been checked against a real Messenger capture yet. Voice messages are written out as text for now, and seen receipts, the small picture under your last message, are not drawn yet.
Can the other person see a fake Messenger chat?
No. It is a picture made in your browser. Nothing is sent to Messenger or Facebook, no account is involved, and the person whose name you type is never notified.
What size is the downloaded image?
On the iPhone screen it is 1170 × 2532 pixels, the native screenshot size of an iPhone 12, 13 and 14, saved as a PNG with no watermark. Switch the phone to Android and the export is 1236 × 2745, close to a Pixel screenshot.
Is anything I type uploaded?
Not unless you ask for it. The screenshot is drawn on a canvas inside your browser and the PNG is saved straight from there; the names and the messages never reach our servers. The one exception is Write with AI: the short description you type there is sent to our server to draft the conversation, and nothing else is. The only copy that outlives the tab is the draft your own browser keeps on your own device so you can come back to it.
